Rebel Wilson and fiancée celebrate Pride with a romantic dinner (2024)

Rebel Wilson and her fiancée Ramona Agruma celebrated their Pride with a romantic dinner in West Hollywood on Sunday.

The actress, who says it's 'total nonsense' to think 'only gay actors should play gay roles,' exuded elegance in a white and black polka dot belted maxi dress with long sleeves, a pleated skirt and a loose tie.

The Pitch Perfect star, 44, wore black pumps and added a pop of color with a small red leather shoulder bag.

Her long, blonde hair was parted on the side and styled in loose curls.

The JoJo Rabbit actress' makeup looked natural with a soft red lip.

Agruma looked sleek in a black belted jumpsuit with a slight V-neck and loose fitting cap sleeves.

The clothing designer wore tan pumps with a black toe and carried a small black leather shoulder bag.

She wore natural looking makeup with a soft pink lip and her blonde hair was parted on the side and styled straight.

The couple made their relationship official in June 2022, and welcomed their daughter Royce, 18 months, via surrogate in November of that year.

They became engaged in February of 2023.

Sadly, Agruma, like many in the LGBTQ+ community, has been estranged from her parents.

In an interview on BBC Radio 4's'Desert Island Discs' program, Wilson said while she received acceptance from her family when she came out, her fiancée wasn't so fortunate.

'Her mum has luckily come around now, her father still doesn't talk to her, but we’re hoping that will change,' The Almond and the Seahorse actress said.

In that same interview, Wilson said she and Agruma were pushed into going public with their relationship after a reporter at the Sydney Morning Herald in her native Australia gave her a deadline to provide a comment on the then blossoming romance.

'I wasn’t hiding my relationship with Ramona but it was something we were slowly telling people in our lives,' she explained.

Although not everyone in the respective families knew about the relationship, the pair went public because, 'I wasn't going to let some journalists do it,' the MTV Movie Award winner declared.

'I put it on Instagram, a nice picture of one of our first dates and I just thought all this time I thought I was looking for a Disney prince but maybe what I really needed was a Disney princess.'

The paper has since apologized.

The Rebel Rising author also spoke about never wanting to settle down after getting a front row seat to her parents' volatile marriage. Her mother, Sue Bownds 'never actually divorced (her dad) but she kicked him out of the house when I was 16 and so she should have,' she said.

'I was very proud of her for doing that, it must have taken every piece of strength that she had after years of being like emotionally abused.'

She said her mom always encouraged her 'togo out into the world and just chase your dreams,'

Wilson also said she reconciled with her dad, Warwick, before he passed away from a heart attack at age 62 in 2013. 'The anger just turned to pity because I saw a man that had nobody really in his life,' she said.

The couple have been official since June of 2022. In a BBC interview, Wilson said she was forced to go public with the romance sooner than planned after an Australian reporter got wind of it and wanted a comment for a story

The Pitch Perfect star has revealed her family has accepted the relationship, but that Agruma's parents had difficulty with it.'Her mum has luckily come around now, her father still doesn't talk to her, but we’re hoping that will change'

'He was very proud of me becoming an actress…I feel really proud that he did get to see that I was a success and I think he was very sorry for a lot of his actions even though he never expressed that.'

The Hustle star said her issues with weight and binge eating could also be traced back to her childhood, and her father's cruel behavior.

'My father would say stuff like "you know your mum doesn't love you, she loves the dogs" and would plant these things in my head,' she revealed.

'When I became about 11 or so I realized he's not telling the truth about that… As a little girl the way of coping would be, which I learned from my mother, was to eat sweets. That numbed any kind of feelings of pain or emotions running.'
