✔️✔️✔️ Evan Davis is spot on with this article about the common attributes of a successful entrepreneur. Before going self-employed in 2004, having a boss and being told what to do never sat right with me either, lol. I also agree that luck plays a big part, as there is no way I would have succeeded with Full Proof (or even attempted setting up a business) if the internet hadn't existed in 2004. I am only a 'doer' because the internet largely removed the need to pick up a phone and sell yourself! How about you? Do you have the three attributes Davis describes? #entrepreneur https://lnkd.in/edZDTDJm

One of the cool things about being a proofreader is that you come across interesting words. Today's word is manipulandum, which is apparently an object designed to be manipulated in a psychological test or experiment. đź§

Wow. Good job I read this article when I did. *Puts rock back in garden* Beware of Google's AI Overview, people! Or better still, block it altogether.https://lnkd.in/e-R8QUHg#AI #ArtificialIntelligence #AIOverview #Google

A quick reminder that you can never fully rely on Word's Spelling and Grammar tool. While proofreading questions for a board game this morning, I came across one that started with "Which king of food..." when it should have said "Which kind of food..."Word will not pick up on this because the sentence is grammatically correct, but the question would have confused thousands of people playing the game had it gone to print like that.(I also ran the incorrect version through Scribendi's AI editor, and it missed it too.)

A huge thank you to my lovely client Debs Hyde of BrandSmile for sending me this very substantial Panettone all the way from Italy! The perfect gift for a teetotal, sweet-toothed supplier like me! As you can see from the photo, it won't last long in my house... :)It's always nice to receive a gift through the post, especially nowadays when everything tends to be sent digitally. Thanks again, Debs. Always a pleasure to proofread for you!And to everyone reading this: What was the best gift you've ever received from a client?
