Hallie Biden, 50, set to wed Ohio financier ahead of Hunter's trial (2024)

President Biden's former daughter-in-law is set to tie the knot, years after moving on from her husband Beau by infamously dating Hunter Biden.

Hallie Biden, 50, will walk down the aisle with Ohio financial broker John Hopkins Anning, 53, according to Page Six.

The nuptials could reportedly come as soon as this weekend, with a marriage license already emerging in Ohio's Hamilton County court records.

It comes five years after the end of her controversial fling with Hunter, and the 50-year-old is expected to be called as a witness in the president's son's upcoming trial on gun violations.

Hallie has reportedly been engaged to Anning for over a year, but the couple held off on marrying until her younger child graduated from high school.

Insiders told Page Six that the big day is set for this weekend, however further details of the wedding or who may attend are unclear.

She was previously married to Beau Biden from 2002 until his death in 2015 from brain cancer, during which time he served as the Delaware Attorney General.

After Beau Biden passed away, she began dating Hunter around the same time he divorced his ex-wife Kathleen Buhle.

The couple continued their tryst for two years, in a time that has now fallen under the spotlight ahead of Hunter's federal trial.

The president's son is accused of lying about a crack cocaine addiction on gun forms when he purchased a Colt Cobra .38 firearm in October 2018, at the same time he was dating Hallie.

Hunter's trial is the first ever launched against the child of a sitting president, and comes just days after Donald Trump became the first former president to be convicted of a felony.

He is also set for another trial in Los Angeles in September after allegedly avoiding over $1.4 million in federal taxes from 2016 to 2019.

Following Beau's tragic passing, Hallie sparked controversy as she embarked on a two year relationship with her husband's brother Hunter

Also expected to testify in the upcoming trial is Buhle, to whom Hunter allegedly owes further money to, and his ex-girlfriend Zoe Kestan.

At his trial, the president's son will face allegations that he deliberately filled out a federal background check form incorrectly, where he wrote that he was not a user of controlled substances.

Hunter has been open about his addiction issues in the past, with prosecutors also presenting evidence that cocaine was found in his gun's pouch.

According to the New York Post, Hallie's testimony could see her detail how Hunter took the .38 firearm to his home in Delaware, and kept hold of it for 11 days before she threw it into a trash can outside a supermarket.

Kestan also reportedly previously revealed further details to prosecutors, including allegations that Hunter would smoke crack cocaine 'every 20 minutes except when he slept.'

Hallie is expected to be a key witness when Hunter goes on trial next week for federal gun violations, as their tryst overlapped with his alleged crimes

Prosecutors are also set to introduce a number of texts and images that they say proves Hunter knowingly lied on the background form, with Hallie expected to be the star witness.

This included a month after the gun was found by Hallie, where he texted her: 'I’m a liar and a thief and a blamer and a user and I’m delusional and an addict unlike beyond and above all other addicts that you know and I’ve ruined every relationship I’ve ever cherished.'

In another, he allegedly texted her that he was 'proven unstable when you put a gun in the trash can... out of FEAR.'

Prosecutors said that Hallie would frequently search through Hunter's 'bags, backpacks, and vehicle in an effort to help him get sober, and discovered drug paraphernalia and drugs in his possessions on multiple occasions.'

Hunter faces up to 25 years in prison if convicted of the felony gun charges, and has pleaded not guilty.
